Our Origin

SMB.co was inspired by a deep appreciation for the entrepreneurial spirit. Our co-founder and CEO, Joe, grew up surrounded by family members who built their own businesses and became a serial entrepreneur himself.

Brit is the Cofounder and CMO of SMB.co, where she leads the company's mission to make small business ownership accessible to everyone. Before cofounding SMB, Brit built and scaled marketing engines at high-growth B2B SaaS companies, but it was her firsthand experience watching small business owners struggle to find buyers and navigate exits that sparked the vision for SMB. She cofounded the company alongside Joe Brown and Mike Hillenmeyer to give independent buyers and sellers the tools, data, and support that were previously only available to private equity firms. A certified leadership coach, Brit is driven by the belief that the next generation of entrepreneurs should have a real shot at owning the businesses that power local communities.

With over 20 years of experience, he has successfully taken products from innovative definition and strategy to launch and maturity. Mike’s expertise in business development, strategic partnerships, and product innovation ensures that SMB.co remains at the forefront of the industry. Outside of work, Mike is passionate about philanthropic endeavors, always looking for innovative ways to serve the community. His leadership at SMB.co aims to simplify and streamline the buying and selling process for small businesses, making it accessible to all.
